R_How to Edit an Existing Update in Builder Signal - Builder Admins

For Builder Admins responsible to ensure accurate communication with homeowners. Learn how to edit or correct a previously sent update. Adjust photos, videos, descriptions and much more.

 

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log into Builder Signal Website
    Use your builder admin credentials to log into the Builder Signal website. Only Builder Admins can make changes to an update that has already been sent.
  2. View the Website of the Home You Want to Edit
    From your dashboard, find the home you want to edit. As an admin, all homes will be listed on your Homes in Progress screen. Select Actions and then View Homeowner Site. Navigate to the update you'd like to edit and verify the content the customer is currently seeing.
  3. Access the Home You Want to Edit
    Return to to the Home's Action menu and click Post an Update. From the Add a Construction Update screen, click Cancel. You are wanting to make an edit, not create a new update.  Select the update to be edited and click the Edit/Pencil icon.
  4. Edit the Construction Update
    Edit any or all components of the previous update:
    - Photos/video. Delete files using the "flag" in the upper corner of the photo/video. Add via Drag and Drop or navigating to your photos folder.
    - Date. Select from the calendar function.
    - Building Phase. Select from the drop-down menu.
    - Description. Make any necessary changes.
  5. Review and Save.
    Review your revisions and Save your changes. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen "Your changes have been saved."
  6. View Homeowner Site
    Click View Homeowner Site to view your changes. These will be the same as will be displayed the next time the Homeowner visits their website.

Common Issues:

  • Can't Edit an Existing Update?
    Ensure you’re logged into the web application with your admin credentials. Only Builder Admins can edit an existing update.
  • Photo/Video Upload Not Working?
    - Only 1 video per update.
    - Max video length: 1 minute
    - Max file size: 100MB
  • Changes Not Displaying on Homeowner Website?
    Be sure to hit "Save" after making your changes.
  • Homeowner Did Not Receive Email Notification After Edits?
    The Homeowner is not sent an email notification when an update is modified. They will notice the changes the next time they visit their website.
